The Muslim community in Perth Australia including the mosques, Imams and leaders have all come together in firm solidarity with the people of Sudan.
Since 2023, Sudan has been plunged into one of the world’s largest humanitarian crises, with thousands of lives lost due to ongoing violence, starvation and disease.
With more than 14 million people now internally displaced, civilians are trapped with severely limited access to food, medicine and clean water - particularly in El-Fasher and the North Darfur region.
Famine has been declared in several regions with over 21 million people facing high levels of acute food insecurity – making it the largest food crisis in the world.
UNICEF has also reported that 45% of children under 5 are acutely malnourished.
The Messenger of Allah said: “Whoever relieves a Muslim of a burden from the burdens of the world, Allah will relieve him of a burden from the burdens on the Day of Judgement. And whoever helps ease a difficulty in the world, Allah will grant him ease from a difficulty in the world and in the Hereafter.” [ at-Tirmidhi]
